Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, The Minister of Culture, issued a decree delegating  Dr. Ashraf Hassan Zaki, The Dean of The Higher Institute of Theatrical  Arts, to take the charges of  the position of the Vice-President of the Academy of Arts for one year.

It is worthy of note that Dr. Ashraf Zaky is an Egyptian artist.he has graduated in  Business Administration Department – Faculty of Commerce - Cairo University - in 1983, He got  a Bachelor of Commerce. He joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and obtained a BA degree In 2002, he received his PhD in Theater Direction  from the Academy of Arts (excellent degree ) in 2002  about "The Contemporary Vision of the texts inspired by heritage."

He gradated   in many position including:-  Assistant Professor in the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in the Academy of Arts, Member of the Directors Board of " Madinit Al- Intag Al Ealamy" , Member of the Directors Board of The Opera House, The Head  of the Arab Theater Organization, the Director of the Arab Union of Arab Artists.  

Plus , he has got Some scholarships including :- a course in theater directing under the auspices of UNESCO, a scholarships to visit the most important theaters of the United States of America and learn about the modern technology

It is worthy of note that the artist Ashraf Zaki received the State Award in theatrical performance in 2001 and "The Excellence Award of arts " in 2009.

Furthermore, he has published many books including :-  "The Role of The Director to Establish Experimental Movement in the Egyptian theater" , "Directorial Contemporary Heritage Vision" .

Moreover, he has many important works , in the field of cinema, theater, radio, that  enriched the artistic Egyptian and Arab memory.
