Start Receiving Applications For The Fifth Edition of The Golden Voice Competition

Within the framework of The Ministry of Culture's plan to discover and support young talent in all fields, The Cultural Development Fund sector headed by Dr. Fathi Abdel Wahab started receiving applications to participate in the fifth Edition of The Golden Voice Competition that will last until 30 November, the competition is  founded by the late great artist Mohsen Farouk. The conditions of the competition are as following:- - The contestant must have an Egyptian nationality. - The contestant should be from 18 to 30 years of age. - the contestant should submit, the first stage, one Arabic music work and in the second stage the contestant should present a taqtouka -  lyric maqam or a Monologue or  a role or a poem.  Notice: The application form is available in the following locations:- 1- In The headquarters of The Cultural Development Fund - Opera courtyard. 2-   In the sales outlets  of The Cultural Development Fund. 3-  In The Cultural Development Fund website www.cdf.gov.eg.

Alienation In The Novels of Naguib Mahfouz Is The latest Publication  of The Book Organization The Egyptian General Book Organization, headed by Dr. Haitham al-Haj, recently issued The book “ Alienation In The Novels of Naguib Mahfouz”  by Dr. Mona Barakat. The book deals with the phenomenon of political alienation in the prototypes of Mahfouz novels, which appears clearly on the personal  level and  on his vision. The author chose many phases of Mahfouz writings :-   from the novels of the 1930s , she chose “ Kifah Thebes, and from the 1940s, she chose “New Cairo” , from the novels of the fifties, she chose” Al- Soukarya”  .plus , the novel “  The Thief And The Dogs”  from the sixties and  from the seventies , she chose  The novel “The Mirrors” , and From the eighties, she  chose more than a novel including :-“ Afrah Al- Koba”,”  the journey of Ibn Fatuma” and “Qashtumr” It is worthy of Note that The book is divided into three chapters:- the first deals with the reasons and motives behind the political alienation in Naguib Mahfouz's novels, the second deals with the different aspects of political alienation in Naguib Mahfouz's novels and the third answers the question about the results of the political alienation in Naguib Mahfouz's novels.

The Ministry of Culture Celebrates The 31 Anniversary Of Inaugurating The Egyptian Opera House

  The Opera House celebrates its 31 anniversary. - The Minister of Culture honors 12 personalities who enriched the creativity in Egypt and the Arab world. Panorama of the Opera Arts on the Grand Theater to celebrate its 31st anniversary. The Ministry of Culture celebrates the 31st anniversary of the opening of the Egyptian Opera House on two consecutive days:-  at 8 pm on Thursday and Friday, 10 , 11October  at The Grand Theater, where Dr. Ines Abdel Dayem honors 12 personalities who enriched the creativity movement and played an important role in presenting and publishing valuable arts in Egypt. Dr. Magdy Saber, Head  of The Opera House, added that the Minister of Culture honors :- soloists players:- Sobhy Bedair, Reda El-Wakeel - former head of the House of Music, Opera and Ballet, Soprano Iman Mostafa, Artistic Director of Cairo Opera Ensemble, and Maestro Selim Sahab-  founder of the National Arab Music Ensemble, Ballerina Lamia Zayed, Maestro Omar Farhat- head of the Religious Songs Recitals Ensemble, Director Gihan Morsy- Director of Arab Music Festival and Conference, Artist Walid Awny- founder of Modern Theatrical Dance and Farasan Al Sharq Heritage Troupe , Soprano Naveen Alouba, Clarinet Player Dr. Mohamed Hamdy Former head of the House of Music, Opera and Ballet, Mostafa Naji -former head of the opera and violinist Hassan Sharara. The festivity is directed by Jihan Morsi and it  includes a panorama of the valuable arts that the opera house is  specialized in, including:  opera singing, ballet and Arabic music, followed by screening documentary films about the history of old and new opera, accompanied by an exhibition of plastic arts under the title “ In The love of opera”  including more than 100 diverse art works dealing with different opera arts with a special vision in the halls of:  Salah Taher and Ziad Bakir. It is noteworthy that the concert program includes presenting two musical performances for Maestro Nayer Nagy orchestra ,Opera choral and Cairo Opera Ensemble. They will present  the most famous musicals works:- - Carousel by Richard Rogers, a beautiful coincidence by Sai Colemanand others , performed by  Laila Ibrahim, Jacquline Rafiq, Elhami Amin, Dina Iskandar, Mona Rafla, Hisham El Gendy, Abdel Wahab El Sayed, Walid Karim, Julie Fayzy, Reda El Wakil, Iman Mostafa and Amr Medhat. The festivity is  artistically  directored by  Armenia Kamel . The second performance includes presenting a selection of traditional and contemporary Arabic music works, led by Maestro Dr. Mostafa Helmy, including :- Mudnak, Albi Dalili, , Lahn Al Wafa, and many others . This paragraph is performed by Iman Abdel Ghani, Ahmed Effat, Mai Farouk and the two children Kenzi Turki and Wafa Imad. It is worthy of note  that the Egyptian Opera House was inaugurated on 10 October  1988 and it includes seven theaters:  The Grand Theater, small Theater and open Theater. In addition to   Al- Gomhorya  Theater , the Institute of Arab Music in Cairo , the Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria and Damanhour Opera Theater in Al- Beihira .  Since The Opera House Inauguration, it played an important role in enriching artistic life in Egypt, it has become an artistic and cultural window that  gives an opportunity for promising teams and artists to present their unique artistic experiences, in addition to presenting valuable  specialized arts in the fields of :-  ballet, opera, classical and Arabic music , cultural salons, exhibitions of plastic arts festivals and different kind of solo music , singing and playing Arts in Egypt and the Arab world and the continent of Africa, plus, it has become one of the marks in Egypt's cultural and artistic history by its  artistic and human abilities.

The Supreme Council  of Culture Screen The Film The  Passage- Al Mamar “  In  The  Opera House To  celebrate the anniversary of the October victories Within the framework of  The Ministry of Culture celebrations of the anniversary of the victories of October, the Supreme Council of Culture, headed by Dr. Hisham Azmi and in cooperation with the Egyptian Opera House headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, organized a special cinematic screening of the cinema film “ The  Passage- Al Mamar”  directed by Sherif Arafa and produced by  Hisham Abdel Khalek, the film will be screened  at 7 pm on Monday, 7 October in The Grand Theater , followed organizing a seminar for explaining the film  With the filmmakers . The film revolves around the Egyptian Armed Forces war of attrition during thr run of Anwar Al- Sadat , one of the valiant leaders, discussing the time period from 1967 until the beginning of the war 1973. The film gained a great success since its screening . The film starring :- Ahmed Ezz, Ahmed Rizk, Iyad Nassar, Ahmed Flux, Amir Salahuddin, Ahmed Salah Hosni, Mohamed Sharnouby, Mahmoud Hafez, Mohamed Farrag

Book Authority  Announces The Design Competition of the Poster of The 51st Cairo International Book Fair The Egyptian General Book Organization, headed by Dr. Haytham El-Haj, announces the start of the competition for designing the poster of “ Cairo International Book Fair” in its  51 st Edition that  will be organized from 22 January to 4 February 2020. The competition conditions stipulate the following : - The design should include The logos  of: -The  Egyptian Ministry of Culture, The Egyptian General Book Organization, in addition to the slogan of  the coming Edition "Egypt – Africa,  A Culture of Diversity", Senegal Flag – as the guest of honor of this Edition and Gamal Hamdan  - the personality of the fair . -The designs should be submitted on a CD before 12:00 noon,  on Sunday 20th October , to be submitted in  the headquarters of The Egyptian General Book Organization on Nile Corniche . - The design should be submitted by the contestant him/herself, with a copy of his ID. - The contestant can participate with maximum three posters. Notice:- The winner will get a prize value of Fifteen thousand Egyptian pounds.

Essam Khalifa And Amr Selim Present A Poetic Evening  In The Opera House Essam Khalifa and Amr Selim present their creation  on the Small Theater Of The Opera House Within the cultural and intellectual activities,  at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, 2 October, The Egyptian Opera House,  headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, will organize a poetic evening at the small theater for  the poet Dr. Essam Khalifa. The evening includes presenting a selection of the most important and latest romantic patriot poems, accompanied by the guitar player Amr Slim and broadcasted by Ola Shousha. It is worth mentioning that the poet Essam Khalifa get :- a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery a postgraduate diploma in human resource management from the American University in Cairo. an MBA from the University of Wales, London. He won several awards in the field of poetry and he represented Egypt in many conferences and presented many poetry evenings in Arab countries The United States and Canada. He also published five books :- “Sleep by my shadow-Nami Bazali”, “my green passport”, “oriental tones”, “girl is a poem”, “In Tahrir Square. In addition publishing several scientific literature in Arabic and English. Khaleifa is also a member of “Egyptian Writers Union” and a member of “The Chamber of Developing Egyptian human Resources” , he has published many poems and articles in Arabic and foreign newspapers, he won the second Prize in “  Prince of Poets” competition- the largest specialized competition in the Arab world, in its sixth Edition in Abu Dhabi for his poem "Do Not Ask The Gemini" As for Amr Selim, he is a creative pianist and music distributor, characterized by his special style of playing the piano. He participated in Egyptian, Arab and international artistic Ensembles.

The 5th Cairo International Poetry Forum Will Be Held Next December

The 5th Cairo International Poetry Forum Will Be Held Next December The Supreme Council of Culture, Under the Secretariat General of Dr. Hisham Azmi, is organizing the 5th Cairo International Forum for Arabic Poetry Forum entitled “ Poetry And Culture of The era -  The Edition of Ibrahim Naji And Bader Shaker Al Sayyab " from 16 to 19 December at the Council's Headquarters in Cairo, held  with the participation of a large number of Egyptian and Arab researchers, poets and critics. In January, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, issued a ministerial decree to form a higher committee to organize the fifth Edition  of the forum under the supervision of the Secretary General of the Council and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Mottaleb – the committees reporter. The committee chose the title of the edition and launched, last week, a number of the main axes and sub-axes. The Committee accepts the  participation by presenting a  proposed study in one of the main or sub-axes including :- "poetry and culture of the era" and the sub-themes of:-  cultural reading of the poetry, poetry and the arts, language and contemporary identity and the levels of intertexuality in Arabic poetry. The second axes:-  "poetry and shifts in the Arab reality" discusses the pillars of Arabic poetry, poetry and power, feminism and transformation poetic form. The third axis discusses poetry and technology including:-  electronic publishing, poetry from oral to digital, poetry and drama along with poetry and translation. The last axes discusses poetry and criticism through poetry, poetic picture shifts, poetic structure in the modern poem, poetry and interpretation. The Forum concludes with the announcement of the winner of Cairo Prize for Poetic Creativity at its fifth edition. It is worthy of note that the organizing committee includes a number of specialists, critics and poets, including :- Dr. Mohamed Abdel Mottaleb, the poet Hassan Talib, the poet Ahmed Sweilem, the poet Mohammed Suleiman, the poet Hussein Qabahi, the poet Shaaban Youssef, Dr. Abdel Nasser Hassan, Dr. Osama Behairy, poet Ahmed Antar Mustafa and Wael Hussain.

The Urban Harmony Organization  Announces The architectural Competition Representing  Egypt In  Venice Biennale of Architecture 2020

  The Urban Harmony Organization  Announces The architectural Competition Representing  Egypt In  Venice Biennale of Architecture 2020  For the fourth consecutive years, The National Urban Harmony Organization,  headed by Eng. Mohamed Abu Saada, will launch the Open Architectural Competition to select the best ideas for projects that can be implemented to represent Egypt in the 17 th Venice International Biennale of Architecture. The competition will be from May 2020 to  the end of November 2020. It has been held in Venice, Italy, every two years since 1980. Abou Saada explained that, this edition  is dealing with designing and implementing an architectural project that fulfills the theme of the exhibition, which is "How will we live to gather?" The contestants  can find  the terms of the competition in its final form on the website of The National Urban Harmony Organization, this  has been announced in the national newspapers, the participant can see it and pay the participation fee  in the  organization's headquarters in Salah al-Din Castle, the deadline for delivery the projects is 1 st December  2019, The results of the competition will be announced on 19, 2019. Saada  explained that the winning project will represent Egypt in Venice International Biennial. The team leader of this project will be  the Commissar of the Egyptian pavilion, plus, the distinguished valuable projects will be awarded certificates of appreciation - based on the recommendation of the jury, and the Ministry of Culture will pay for the cost of travel to Venice and full accommodation for  maximum of three members of the winning project team including the Commissar. It is noteworthy that Egypt Pavilion in the previous Edition of   Venice International Biennial  was selected as one of the the top ten wings in the Biennale. Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most prestigious exhibitions of international contemporary architecture exhibitions, with the participation of dozens of countries around the world and it receives more than half a million visitors. Egypt is one of the first countries that  participated in Venice Biennale of Arts in general and of architecture in particular.

It is worthy of note that The World Translation Day is celebrated every year on 30 September coinciding with the anniversary of  St. Jerome -  a biblical translator, sponsored by the International Federation of Translators, which was established in 1953. Plus, In 1991, the Union launched the idea of ​​celebrating the World Translation Day as an annual event to introduce the importance of translation and the pivot role of translators and their  Importance  in transferring knowledge and cultures between different civilizations.
