The Minister of Culture honours the winners of the "Storytelling and Novels" and "Young Translators" competitions at the Supreme Council of Culture

 

Minister of Culture: These competitions reflect our commitment to providing a platform for promising writers and translators and enhancing the status of literature by enriching cultural dialogue.

 

In a distinguished cultural celebration, Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, honored the winners of the "Storytelling and Novels (Great Writer Fathi Ghanem edition)" and "Young Translators for the Year 2024" competitions, which were organized by the Supreme Council of Culture, headed by Dr Osama Talaat.

 

The ceremony was held in the conference hall of the Council, and it was attended by an elite group of writers, translators, and creatives.

 

During the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano expressed his happiness to participate in this distinguished cultural event, stressing the Ministry of Culture's keenness to support young creative energies, saying that these competitions reflect the Ministry's commitment to providing a platform for promising writers and translators and enhancing literature and thought by enriching cultural dialogue between peoples.

The Minister also praised the role of writers and translators in enriching national and international culture, stressing the Ministry's continued support for developing their skills and developing their creativity. Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano stressed that these competitions seek to enhance literary creativity and support young writers by presenting works that express social issues and encouraging translators to be intellectually open and interact with global cultures by choosing contemporary topics of great importance.

 

The Minister concluded his speech by stressing the Ministry's commitment to continue providing all forms of support to creators and intellectuals, believing in the importance of literature and the arts as a fundamental pillar in building society and advancing thought.

 

Afterwards, the Minister of Culture honored the winners of the 2024 Young Translators Competition, which dealt with the topic of "The Fifth Industrial Revolution and Information Technology," including: Asmaa Ragab, for the English language, Mohamed Ayman Al-Bari, for the Chinese language, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Imam, for the Italian language, and Mohamed Youssef Mohamed, for the Swahili language. As for the Short Story and Novel Competition (Fathi Ghanem edition), Sawsan Hamdi Mohamed Mahfouz won the first prize for her short story collection "Set El Banat".
