The Minister of Culture and the Governor of Minya inaugurated the activities of the 36th edition of the General Conference of Egyptian Writers at Minya University.

 

The Minister of Culture announces The Governorate of Al-Minya as the "Capital of Egyptian Culture for the year 2025"

 

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano: Literature is our intellectual power that preserves our national identity and enhances our unity in facing challenges.

 

Major General Emad Kadwani: The conference adds glorious lines to Al-Minya Governorate that history will record, adorned with love and authentic values.

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, and Major General Emad Kadwani, Governor of Minya, inaugurated the activities of the thirty-sixth edition of the General Conference of Egyptian Writers, which is organized by the General Organization of Culture Palaces, under the supervision of the writer Mohamed Abdel Hafez Nasef, Vice President of the Organization.

The conference is organized under the title: "Literature of Victory and Cultural Security.. Fifty Years of Crossing", and it carries the name of the great writer, "Gamal Al-Ghitani".the conference is headed by Dr. Ahmed Nawar, and the Secretary-General of the Conference, the poet Yasser Khalil. The ceremonies were attended by Dr. Essam Farhat, head of Minya University, and many executive leaders.

 

The Minister of Culture announced Minya as the "Capital of Egyptian Culture in 2025", on the occasion of the 36th General Conference held on its land.

 

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, said that the title of the conference this year confirms our deep awareness of the role of literature and culture in documenting national achievements, consolidating Egyptian identity, and protecting our cultural security.

 

The Minister of Culture expressed his hope that young writers would be inspired by Al-Ghitani's narrative style, and seek to develop their creative tools, and present literary works that contribute to enriching Arab cultural life.

 

The Minister of Culture also called on Egyptian writers and those concerned to enhance cultural dialogue, to devote the values of creativity, tolerance, and belonging, and to work together to build a cultural system that contributes to protecting our cultural security and enhances our intellectual immunity in facing the challenges.

The Minister of Culture thanked all the participants in the conference and its organizers, and Major General Emad Kadwani, Governor of Minya, for his generous hosting of the conference, thanking the conference organizers, headed by artist Dr Ahmed Nawar, and the secretariat of poet Yasser Khalil, for their efforts to make this event a success.

 

The writer Muhammad Abd al-Hafiz Nasif announced the grand prize, under the title ‘The Popular Culture Prize in Literature and Arts’, which consists of four prizes, each worth one hundred thousand pounds, two for writers and two for artists.

 

The ceremonies included presenting a documentary film showing the history of Minya Governorate, its monuments, and its ancient and modern antiquity, as well as several distinctive events, in addition to presenting an artistic show entitled "Minya Al-Khasib. Bride of the Nile", an artistic show presented by the Mallawi Folk Arts Troupe, an artistic show by the children's choir and students of the British School in Minya. The ceremony was directed by Osama Abdel Raouf, and presented by the media figure Dr. Safaa Al-Najjar, prepared by Dr. Masoud Shoman, and film material by Mohamed Shoman.
