In Rome , The Ministry of Culture Continues The Celebration of Egypt's Presidency of The African Union And The Selection of Aswan As The Capital of The Black Continent’s  Youth.

In the framework of  the opening of the activity season of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, Culture delivers  messages from the south to Italy.

The Ministry of Culture launches the first activities, of the agenda of the new season of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome ,by organizing an artistic celebration on the occasion of choosing Aswan as the capital of African youth, which comes within the framework of Egypt's presidency of the African Union on  27 November. The ceremonies will be attended by  Ambassador Hesham Badr, Egyptian Ambassador to Italy, Dr. Heba Youssef, Head of Foreign Cultural Relations Sector, Supervisor of Cultural and Artistic Activities, and a number of ambassadors , diplomats and public figures.

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, affirmed that the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome plays an active role in creating dialogue of civilization between Egypt and Europe , it is also  considered  to be  one of the important bridges and a golden gate to transfer the Egyptian local creativity and the essence of Egyptian culture and arts to Europe.

For her part , Dr. Heba Youssef said that The Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome is one of the main pillars and a beacon of Egyptian cultural in the heart of Europe and it contributes in its role as one of the tools of Egyptian soft power in promoting Egypt and its culture and heritage,  as well as in  stimulating the opportunities of European cultural investment by shedding light on some national projects in film screenings .

It is worthy of note that the Academy has a museum of the Golden Pharaoh Tutankhamun - as a historical links with Italy to convey an image of the Egyptian civilization that has. .

For his part, Dr. Ashraf Reda, head of the Egyptian Council for plastic Arts and its General Commander, said that the exhibition includes 32 works of art for 20 different artists from different generations and  some Photos embodying traditional life in Aswan.

The idea of ​​establishing an Egyptian Academy of Arts was born in 1929 by the Egyptian artist Ragheb Ayyad, who was studying art in Italy at the time. Being motivated by the enthusiasm of youth , he  wrote to the Egyptian government to establish an Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome 1930.  Afterwards,  Collo Obio Palacewas chosen to be  the temporary headquarters of the Academy with the presidency of the artist Sahab Rifaat Almaz . in 1966, the activities the first cultural season began, and in 2008 the former Minister of Culture artist Farouk Hosni decided to develop the building to become an important Egyptian cultural window in the heart of Europe, activating cultural cooperation between Egypt and European countries.
