Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, honored the recipients of the State Awards "Nile—Appreciation—Excellence" during the last six years, starting from 2019 until 2024. The number of honorees reached 116 creative winners in various fields. The grand celebration was organized by the Supreme Council of Culture, under the Secretariat of Dr. Osama Talaat, at the Grand Theater, at the Egyptian Opera House. This celebration comes as an embodiment of the Egyptian state's vision to celebrate creative men and women who have contributed to enriching the cultural, artistic, and scientific scene in Egypt in appreciation of their efforts and creativity that have contributed to strengthening the cultural identity.
During his speech, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, said: "I have the pleasure to stand with this distinguished gathering of pioneers of thought and creativity in Egypt, who have enlightened the history of our great nation with their works. The poets who sang about the beauty of our nation, the artists who portrayed the spirit of our people, and the scientists who built our present and future. You, gentlemen, are the heirs of an ancient civilization that you have preserved and presented to the world an incomparable intellectual and artistic legacy. Today, we are here to celebrate and appreciate you all."
The Minister of Culture added, "We believe that you will remain a source of inspiration for future generations, and your journey will continue in building modern Egypt—the Egypt of science, knowledge, and creativity.
Dr. Osama Talaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, stressed that the Egyptian culture celebrates distinguished and rich cultural, intellectual, and scientific icons, noting that the Supreme Council of Culture continues to play its pioneering role in granting Egyptian state awards to Egypt's intellectuals, thinkers, and creators, coping with the high status of Egypt in the Arab and African world. Talaat explained that the Supreme Council of Culture has presented various important achievements in the field of sponsoring creators since 1958, including granting state awards and enhancing Egypt's soft power of intellectuals, thinkers, artists, and writers over the past sixty years. The Council has been a pioneer in organizing and maintaining Egypt's leadership, as the state awards have been able to stimulate creative energies in various fields of arts, literature, and social sciences, despite the many and accumulated crises and challenges that Egypt has faced throughout its contemporary history.
Moreover, Talat confirmed that the Supreme Council of Culture will continue to perform its cultural and enlightening role, in line with Egypt's status and its pioneering role in the Arab and African world. Talat thanked the Minister of Culture for all the support and assistance he provided to organize this celebration; he appreciated his great belief in the role of these creative figures in enhancing Egypt's cultural leadership.
The ceremonies began with the presentation of a film on several subjects pertaining to the significance and specifics of state prizes as well as the function of the Supreme Council of Culture in planning their ceremonies . The Egyptian Opera House hosted a singing performance by the Talent Development Center Choir to cap off the festivities.
