Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano: The forum is an opportunity to discover talents, develop the capabilities of young creators, and present the cultural services of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, attended the launch of the activities of the second edition of the "Capital Forum for Children's Arts" at the Egyptian Opera House Square, with the participation of the sectors of the Ministry of Culture and several ministries.
The Russian School Choir, Little Fingers, two groups for children with special needs, and the Egyptian Opera House talent development classes were among the groups that performed on the first stage, which was reserved for singing groups and choirs, when the Minister of Culture visited the pavilions of the participating ministries and sectors. The Aragouz ensemble, "AL Lila Al Kabira," "Farha," the translation pioneer Rifaa El-Tahtawi's act, and marionette puppet shows were all performed on the second stage. Folk art performances by the "Girls Only," "Children of the Egyptian Public Library in Ismailia," "Mansoura," and "Mahalla El-Kubra" groups were held on the third stage.
For his part, the Minister of Culture praised the large public turnout at the forum, including children and their families, and he stressed that the forum is an opportunity to discover talents and develop the capabilities of young creators and to organize training programs, workshops, and various cultural services provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture to build the Egyptian child's personality.
Hano explained that the forum expresses the integration between the ministry's sectors in implementing activities to serve the largest scope of our society.
It is worth noting that this version included the participation of all sectors concerned with children in the ministry, most notably: "The Egyptian Opera House, the Supreme Council of Culture and its affiliated administration - the Central Administration of Divisions and Committees, the National Center for Children's Culture - the General organization of Cultural Palaces, the Egyptian General Book Authority, the National Center for Translation, the Cultural Production Affairs Sector - represented by the Artistic House for Theater and the Artistic House for Folk and Performing Arts - the Fine Arts Sector, the Cultural Development Fund, the Academy of Arts, the General Authority for the National Library and Archives, the Central Administration for External Cultural Relations", in addition to the participation of the Egyptian Public Library and a number of its branches in the governorates.
The forum also witnessed several shows of the national circus segments.
The forum also witnessed the organization of several book fairs in different locations; the lobby of the Supreme Council of Culture hosted the main fair, while other mini-fairs were organized in book sales outlets in all Egyptian Opera Houses, which remained open until the end of their activities, in addition to several artistic workshops for children.
Moreover, the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources also participated in an art awareness workshop entitled "The Nile River is a Lifeline" to raise awareness of the importance of the Nile River and its status to Egyptians since ancient Egyptian civilization, showing the positive practices for rationalizing water use and preserving the river, in addition to scientific activities on environmental protection, along with a lot of introductory information about Egyptian water and simplified scientific experiments to learn about the properties of water and its ability to be transformed from liquid to solid and gas, and other scientific matters presented in a simplified and entertaining way.
The Russian Cultural Center and the Russian School in Cairo participated with several artistic groups, in addition to a mini art exhibition to introduce Russian culture.
