The Minister of Culture, Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, accompanied by Dr. Hisham Azmi, Head of The Book House And National Documents, visited the building of Bab al-Khalq, after its renovation and development in preparation for its inauguration on February. This meeting was attended by a number of leaders of the Ministry of Culture:- Dr/ Fathy Abdul Wahab, Head of the Cultural Development Fund, Eng. Mohammed Abu Saada, head of Urban Harmony Organization, Dr. Ahmed Awwad, Head of The Culture Palaces Organization and Dr. Nevien Mahmoud, Head of Documentation House.
During the tour, Abdel-Dayem announced that as part of the efforts of the State to preserve The Egyptian national heritage, The culture Ministry , represented by The Book House And National Documents , succeeded in restoring the manuscript of Sultan Qanswa al-Ghuri, the last ruler of the Mamluks before the Ottoman invasion, which represents a fourfold Qur'anic figure , registered in the records of the Egyptian Book House in 1884 , in the end of the nineteenth century and specifically in 1892 . She also thanked the Ministries of Antiquities , Foreign Affairs , the various media figures and all those who contributed in restoring the manuscript.
For his part, The Head of The Book House reviewed the steps taken until the manuscript arrived to its homeland and promised to continue exerting more efforts to protect the Egyptian national heritage.
