Voices From Africa is the latest publication of the Egyptian General Book Authority, headed by Dr. Haitham Al-Hajj, the book is a Window on the Creativity of the black Continent", authored by a group of African creators, translated and presented by Nasr Abdel Rahman.
Voices From Africa sheds light on some features of African literature and its most prominent pioneers and creators in different stages. It also highlights the importance of oral poetry as one of the most important tributaries of the creativity of the brown continent that gives it its characteristics and its global uniqueness.
It is also concerned with monitoring political and social changes between the past and the present and their reflection on the literary scene at the present moment , revealing the influence of the West on the creativity of Africa, whether in the past or the present. It also refers to the role of the American and European cultural institutions in supporting or guiding creators of new generations, that was reflected in the way they deal with different issues, focusing on providing multiple experiences for the most prominent male and female creators from the continent's youth which determines the extent of the development of African literature and its accompaniment to the global creative scene .
